DPF Fault?

Your car’s DPF is very efficient in self cleaning and it is unusual for them to become blocked.
If your DPF warning light illuminates this is usually caused by a failed engine component causing a blockage or a component not working that is required to enable your DPF to regenrate.
Firstly we need to understand what has caused the DPF light to illuminate and we recommend you booking in for a Full Vehicle Diagnostic Scan £50+VAT (£60 inc).
We will give you a copy of this information so you can make a decision whether to go ahead and book in to investigate and replace the failed component (if required). Once repaired your engine’s ECU (computer) will need go through a regeneration process to reset the soot values and reset the DPF Light, this can be done by a driven regeneration or ECU controlled regeneration using the correct diagnostic machine. If your DPF is excessively blocked with Soot your DPF will need to be cleaned with the Terraclean DPF Injection Cleaning Machine and then a driven or controlled regeneration will need to be completed to reset the ECU.
Depending on your car’s mileage, driving style and fault code information we may recommend the removal of the DPF to be sent away for a clean to remove the Ash content, the Ash is left behind by the burning of the Soot and this can only be removed with a deep clean.
The replacement of a DPF is only required if the filter itself has broken down and failed (unusual) and if this is the case we would only recommend a genuine replacement part.
